Description
This is a picture of my Naruto OC, Kaeda Kyoko, and her little friend, Mihoko Watari. Mihoko has looked up to Kaeda since she can remember as though she were her big sister. Kaeda is, in turn, very protective of the little girl being that she has no siblings of her own. When the two would get together to play, Mihoko would always ask to braid and play with Kaeda's long, blonde locks. It was her favorite thing to do; even more than baking snickerdoodles!
Mihoko's story is a sad one, though. When she was four years old she contracted a rare and devestating disease that left her imobile very sick. The medics in Konoha and even in Suna knew too little about the sickness to help, and as the disease ran it's course, poor little Mihoko's curly auburn hair began to fall out.
When Kaeda, who was only 10 at the time, was finally allowed to see her little friend, Mihoko was bedridden and frail. The visit left Kaeda feeling helpless that she couldn't do anything to cheer up Mihoko until in a moment of conviction and determination, she approched her mother with a plan.
That very same night, Kaeda's mother, as instricted by her daughter, cut nearly all of the girl's hair off. Though she was very attached to her hair, Kaeda didn't cry a single drop as she thought of how Mihoko must have felt as she lost her own. Taking the newly disconnected locks to a special shop, Kaeda had them made into a beautiful wig for the little girl and took it to her home the next day after school.
Mihoko was so excited when she received the ultimate present that she started to make a turn-around. And though she still has bouts of weakness, you'll rarely find her without a brilliant and proud smile on her face.
Kaeda, however, ended up running into a lot of teasing from her peers at the academy for her new "do", but she would always just ignore them. They didn't understand, and she didn't feel that she needed to explain anything to them. She never was affected very much by what others thought of her, anyway.
Wow...this was really long, wasn't it? Heh, sorry. I just had the idea in my head, and a mere picture couldn't convey it properly, you know? Anyway, this picture is set later when Kaeda is 13 and Mihoko is 7.
